GetLocals, Eastern Europe's private guided tour company, announced a new partnership with Klarna, the global digital bank and flexible payments provider. Beginning in mid-January, GetLocals customers will gain access to Klarna's flexible payment solutions. The collaboration underscores GetLocals' ongoing commitment to customer-centric innovation and its mission to deliver smarter ways to pay. Together with Klarna, the two companies are reimagining the travel booking experience to give passengers greater transparency, convenience, and control.
"At GetLocals, we put the needs and a convenient booking experience of our customers at the center of everything we do," said Stefan Hendrick, CEO of GetLocals. "By leveraging our digital capabilities and partnering with Klarna we can now offer greater choice and flexibility in how customers pay for their experiences." This partnership makes clear the growing global demand for greater flexibility and control when booking travel experiences, according to Irina Enii, Co-Founder of GetLocals. With a single integration, GetLocals is now bringing Klarna to travelers across 15 countries—providing a smoother, smarter booking experience that fits the way people prefer to pay today.
GetLocals customers can select from Klarna's range of payment options at checkout: Pay in Full, where the full cost is paid upfront; Pay in 30 Days, which allows customers to book now and pay later; Pay in 3, which splits the cost into three interest-free instalments; and Financing, which spreads the cost with monthly payments. This partnership ensures GetLocals can cater to the rising demand for unique experiences, backed by a digital payment system that's as intuitive and dynamic as its online platform.
This is especially important for younger travelers, who often prefer digital booking options and may be cash-constrained. According to the company, 51% of those booking cultural, historic, and local tour experiences last year were either Gen Z or Millennials. With features like flexible payment methods and options to reserve now and pay later, GetLocals is able to meet the needs of this ever-growing segment of digital-native travelers. The company operates in 15 countries in Eastern Europe, offering tours such as GetLocals Moldova Tours, GetLocals Tallinn Tours, and GetLocals Bucharest Tours, among others.
