HighLevel's Weekly Release Velocity Nears 23 Updates, AI Dominates as Largest Category

A recent independent study has shed light on the rapid evolution of HighLevel, a white-label marketing platform widely used by agencies. The analysis, conducted by Zoltan Juhasz, a Senior Digital Marketer specializing in AI and founder of NetPartners Marketing in Montreal, examined 500 changelog entries from March 3 to August 5, 2026. The findings reveal an astonishing release cadence of 22.7 product updates per week, translating to over 1,100 annually. This velocity underscores a significant shift in how software platforms are iterating to meet market demands.

Perhaps more telling is the composition of these releases. AI functionality emerged as the largest category, accounting for 79 of the 500 entries, or 15.8 percent. This surpasses other major categories such as messaging (66 entries), workflow automation (60), payments and billing (47), and CRM core features (47). The AI releases are predominantly agentic, meaning they involve autonomous AI agents that can respond to CRM events, integrate with external tools, and operate across voice and chat channels. This marks a clear move beyond simple generative features toward more sophisticated, action-oriented AI.

The study, published on the AI Launchkit Guide research site, collected data directly from HighLevel's public changelog API. Monthly volumes peaked in April with 128 releases, followed by March with 107, and June with 98. This consistent high-volume output suggests a deliberate strategy to rapidly innovate and stay ahead in the competitive CRM landscape.

Juhasz, who advises agency clients across the USA, Canada, Hungary, and France, notes that traditional software evaluation methods are becoming obsolete. "Software evaluation used to mean comparing feature checklists, but a checklist goes stale in three weeks at this shipping speed," he said. "What matters now is direction and velocity. The data shows both clearly: the AI-powered CRM category is rebuilding itself around AI agents that act on behalf of businesses, and the pace is more than twenty releases a week."

The full study is freely available at https://guide.launchkit.work/blog-highlevel-release-velocity-study.html, providing monthly volume data, category breakdowns, and a reproducible methodology. Additionally, the AI Launchkit Guide maintains a free weekly Beta Watch tracker at https://guide.launchkit.work/blog-highlevel-beta-watch.html, documenting upcoming HighLevel features while they are still in private beta, public beta, or Labs testing.

This analysis is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by HighLevel Inc. All monthly counts are reproducible from the platform's public changelog, offering a transparent look into the company's development priorities. The implications for businesses relying on CRM platforms are profound: the pace of innovation and the centrality of AI agents highlight a future where these tools become more autonomous and integral to daily operations.
